Daily Itinerary

Day 1:  Prague

We meet at the elegant Augustine Hotel and Spa in central Prague. A bike path along the Vltava River leads us out of old Prague, through a swanky modern suburb, and into the lush countryside. Though close to the city the path is immersed in pastoral beauty. We cycle to a white water park where we enjoy a cold refreshment at a riverside café. Our first day ends with a group dinner at a posh restaurant overlooking the iconic Charles Bridge.

Day 2:  Heralec

A shuttle takes us east into the rural heart of the Czech Republic. The village of Svetla nad Sazavou has been a center for crystal glassware production since the 17th century. We tour a factory that carries on the tradition of Czech glass manufacturing. Our hotel for the next two nights has a spa and wellness center where you can pamper yourself and rejuvenate.

Day 3:  Humpolec

Cycling through rolling forested hills we arrive in the little town of Humpolec, home to the Bernard Brewery. An English speaking guide takes us on a brewery tour that ends at the bar where we sample their traditional unpasteurized beers. Take a short ride back to the hotel or choose a longer loop through quiet farming villages.

Day 4:  Durnstein

We shuttle across the border to the Rosenburg Castle in lower Austria. This fairy-tale castle sits high on a cliff in the middle of a nature reserve. At the castle we enjoy a birds of prey show followed by a picnic lunch below the castle walls. Later you ride through the vineyards of the Wachau valley to our hotel on the banks of the Danube River. Our hotel is in Durnstein, a captivating village with quiet cobbled streets and fine baroque buildings.

Day 5:  Durnstein

A delightfully flat riverside bike path takes us to the Melk Monastery, a Boroque masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage site. The Monastery is a sprawling complex with perfectly manicured gardens, stately courtyards, and lavishly decorated buildings. We cycle back to Durnstein on the opposite bank of the river. Our ride ends with a river boat crossing and fantastic photo ops.

Day 6:  Vienna

A morning shuttle takes us to the town of Tulnn, also known as the “City of Flowers” due to its abundance of parks and gardens. After exploring Tulnn we follow the riverside bike path to Vienna. We roll gently downstream through forests and parks, right into the center of the Vienna. Our 5-star hotel is located in the cultural center of the city and has a scenic rooftop day spa. We close out the tour with a group dinner at a trendy Viennese restaurant.  Vienna is a major transportation hub making for easy departures at the end of the tour.
